Symphony

Rehearsals for the Mason Symphony are held each Tuesday evening throughout the school year* from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Mason Middle School band room (235 Temple St.) For advanced and intermediate players, the Mason Symphony is less a training group, but more a group free to interpret the music. At least four public performances are planned each year. With such limited playing time for the group, near perfect attendance is required.

Members of the Mason Symphony should:
1. Be adequate readers
2. Have intermediate technical skills
3. Have a reasonable ear for intonation and the ability to adjust out-of tune notes on their instrument
4. Produce a good tone for their instrument

We do not wish to discourage anyone, especially those who have not played their instruments for a number or years and are working hard to reestablish their skills.

If you are interested in joining the Mason Symphony, please contact Beau Benson, our conductor.

* The orchestras do not meet on days when Mason Public Schools are closed due to snow or holidays.

If you feel that you are unable to meet the requirements for playing with the Mason Symphony, please consider joining the Mason Philharmonic.
